Rocking C Ranch
970-921-5880; 970-314-0128
Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains Rocking C Ranch, is surrounded by breathtaking views, with easy access to all the mountain activity you wish to try. Our log cabin home has a fully equipped kitchen, full bath and separate bedroom with a queen bed. The living room has a Murphy queen bed to accommodate 2 more guests. You can have your morning coffee or evening refreshment on the porch and simply enjoy the free music provided by the various bird species. You might be privileged enough to see the Sandhill crane that frequents our ponds or possibly hear the quarreling between a pair of Canadian honkers and ducks. Maybe watching the deer partake of the hay fields is enough for you. If relaxing and pretending the rest of the world does not exist (there is no telephone) this is the place for you. Watch the sunrise or the sunset without ever leaving your chair on the porch. Perhaps you travel with "horse power," either the four legged or the engine kind. Black Canyon of the Gunnison on the West Elk Loop is a 20 minute drive or the Grand Mesa is approximately a 45 minute drive. Crawford Reservoir is only 10 minutes from our driveway to the park. After riding come back to the Ranch, park your "horse power" and soak in the hot tub while your steaks are on the BBQ, or catch your dinner in the upper pond, but don't forget your fishing license. Crawford is within 13 miles of both Paonia and Hotchkiss. The area is known for its fruit orchards and new wine industry, offering several wine tasting rooms along with produce stands. No matter what time of year you come to the "North Fork Area" you can find something to entertain you that is different from the city life. Ice fishing or snowmobiling in the winter, fall colors by horseback or hunting in the autumn, sleeping or reading in the hammock in the spring time and fruit and wine tasting in the summer. Could it get any better? Come join us in "Crawford Country." 37892 Linman Road, Crawford Colorado 81415; 970-921-5880; 970-314-0128.
