FKA Star Valley Ranch.

Are you looking for a charming, warm, clean, secluded cabin in Crested Butte? Then we are the place for you!

Nestled in the Elk Mountains on National Forest Land, only a 10 minute drive from historic downtown Crested Butte, the Pioneer is the perfect location for your Rocky Mountain getaway. Surrounded by old growth pines and aspens at the base of Cement Mountain, The Pioneer offers 8 cabins along Cement Creek.

Four Mountain Cabins were all constructed in the late 1960s at the base of the old Pioneer ski area. Each cabin has three beds, a fully-equipped kitchen, bath, ceiling fan, and fireplace or woodstove. Listen to the rolling creek while you relax beside your private fire ring and picnic table area outside your cabin door.

Four historic cottages were built in the late 1920's to house the skiers from Colorado's first lift-serviced ski area, the Pioneer. All historic log cottages have hardwood floors, fully equipped kitchens and baths. Each cottage is tucked in an old stand of aspen and fir, and is within a stone's throw of the beautiful Cement Creek beside your private fire ring and picnic table area outside your cottage door.

Autumn brings the beautiful "Aspen Glow" forests. October and November we offer a quiet, warm base camp for an Elk hunting adventure in the Gunnison Country.

In winter, ski or snowboard the world-class terrain of Mt. Crested Butte or explore the endless wilderness on snowshoes or Nordic skis.

Year-round vehicle access! Dogs OK. Planning a group event, we have a large grassy area that is prefect for a party tent! Call and we'll help you make arrangements.
