Shadowcliff Lodge & Cabins970-627-9220
Our mountain retreat provides affordable accommodations adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park, Arapaho Forest and Indian Peaks Wilderness Areas. Shadowcliff is concerned about its carbon emissions and our impact on climate change. Reducing the amount of energy we use is an important step: we use solar lights in our parking areas, compact fluorescent bulbs throughout the property, motion detectors and timing devices, and encourage our guests to be conscious of opportunities for energy reduction. We teach sustainability workshops and purchase carbon credit to offset our carbon footprint. Cabins border the North Inlet Stream and have a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, fireplace and a porch with a magnificent view. One sleeps up to 10 persons, the other up to 6. Rempel Lodge Private Rooms accommodate 4 to 6 persons, most offer lake or river views. Shared men's and women's bathrooms are down the hall. Cliffside Lodge sleeps 32 persons in 7 sleeping rooms, each accommodating four to six persons, separate bathrooms for men and women plus a kitchen, dining room and beautiful lounge. Individual guests in the lodge, hostel or cabins may purchase individual meals if we are serving a group. Groups may have meals prepared by Shadowcliff staff. Shadowcliff's kitchen is a "Compassionate Kitchen" a place where the food we prepare and serve is a further expression of the principles of sustainability and hospitality. We encourage guests to use this opportunity to reconnect with the natural environment. In addition to special on-site program offerings, workshops and interpretive hikes, Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) offer a variety of activities. 405 Summerland Park Road, Grand Lake Colorado 80447; 970-627-9220.
